Sophia & Julian

Large and festive Ukrainian wedding filled with tradition and dance

The day was filled with warmth and tradition, beginning with the bride and groom getting ready, each surrounded by close friends and family. What followed was the Ukrainian custom of “Vidkuplenia”—a series of lighthearted challenges that the groom faced with his crew. This set the tone for a day where every moment felt both intimate and deeply connected.

Their first look was a private, meaningful moment, followed by a heartfelt blessing from their parents, marking the start of a new chapter in their lives. The Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate, with its historic charm, provided a timeless setting to capture their connection.

Julian and Sophia’s ceremony took place at the modern St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where deep-rooted Ukrainian traditions added profound meaning to the celebration. The evening continued at St. Joseph's Banquet & Conference Centre, where the dinner reception and party came alive. The energy of the night was further amplified by captivating Barvinok dances and the dynamic Hopak, showcasing rich cultural heritage in every step.

This Oakville wedding was a perfect blend of tradition, fun, and unforgettable memories.
